Study without the interactive lab if you need to
Schoolabe Science is built to work with a keyboard, a screen reader, and devices that cannot run WebGL. The write-up is always there.
What we provide
Every page starts with a skip link, so keyboard users can jump past the header.
Labelled fields
Headings follow the page outline. Practical-file fields have labels, including the ones only a screen reader hears.
A flat diagram fallback
If the interactive lab cannot load, or WebGL is unavailable, the page still shows a flat diagram of the apparatus.
Buttons, not only drag
Stage buttons move an interactive lab forward. You do not have to rely on pointer gestures alone.
Large tap targets
Primary actions are at least 48 pixels tall, with a visible focus ring when you tab to them.
Known limits
Some lab views use drag and orbit. Those are harder with a keyboard alone. Use the stage buttons, or the flat diagram, instead. Chemistry notation — subscripts and superscripts — may be announced awkwardly by some screen readers. If motion bothers you, the site follows your reduced-motion setting and stops decorative animation.
If something blocks you
Use Contact or Report an error on the page. Say which page, which browser or assistive tool, and what stopped you.
